Labette County commissioners approve routine business, set election canvass date and exceed RNR

- Declaration of a Pitney Bowes Connect+ 2000 postage machine as surplus and authorization for Pitney Bowes to remove it upon delivery of a replacement.
- Authorization for board signatures on Resolution No. 2025-29-A to resolve invoices totaling $40 toward $2,242.91 in delinquent taxes for Stanley and Michelle Altendorf.
- Authorization for the chairman to sign an Agreement for Purchase of Services with Labette Community College for training programs; Chairman Vincent B. Schibi moved and Commissioner Terry Weidert seconded.
- Setting the canvass date for the 2025 primary election for August 11, 2025 at 9:00 a.m.
- Adoption of a motion to exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate; commissioners noted they will again vote on exceeding the RNR when a proposed mill levy is presented.
- Authorization for County Clerk Gena Landis to electronically sign an agreement with Nationwide Retirement after review by County Counselor Brian K. Johnson.
- Approval of accounts payable check numbers 37589 through 37681 totaling $93,726.68.
The board recessed briefly during the meeting and later entered executive session for attorney-client consultation, planning a ten-minute session to reconvene at 10:43 a.m. A budget work session was scheduled for Friday, June 13, 2025 at 9:00 a.m. The meeting adjourned at 11:35 a.m.
