Commission receives mapping updates and prepares public hearing on Knight/Jordan land-protection project

The Francestown Conservation Commission heard an update from Dennis Rodier on mapping work to capture the town’s conservation parcels; Dennis said a draft map would be available shortly. Ted Graham, identified in the minutes as being "from FLT," has been mapping hiking trails and points of interest (the minutes cite Rand Brook as an example). Dennis also reported he has been in contact with Zach from the planning commission to obtain updated wetland-overlay data.
Betsy Hardwick provided a brief update on an FLT land-protection effort described in the minutes as the Knight/Jordan project; the commission said it will look to schedule a public hearing date on that project. The minutes record no public hearing date at the March 2 meeting and do not expand the acronym "FLT," which the minutes use in several places without providing a full organization name.
In other business the commission noted receipt of a $550 annual stewardship contribution from LCIP (deposited) and a notice from the Society for the Protection of New Hampshire Forests that one of the town’s easements had been monitored from the air (the notice did not specify which easement; members suspected the old ski area land and the top of Crotched Mountain). The commission also decided to distribute blue bags for Earth Day cleanup and not to hold a formal event, and Betsy reported that the state nursery had no seedlings available for distribution this season.
