Hampton Falls approves warrants, tax credits and hears infrastructure updates

At its Feb. 18 meeting the Hampton Falls Board of Selectmen approved three warrants and acted on several financial and infrastructure items.
Financial approvals: The board approved two accounts payable warrants dated Feb. 13 for $976,853.12 and $8,942.34 and a payroll warrant of $43,824.30 (motion by Lou Gargiulo, second by Edward B. Beattie; vote: unanimous). Town Administrator Rachel D. Webb reported the General Fund balance as $2,989,354.22 (Feb. 17, 2026) and noted the NH PDIP 7-day yield at 3.66% (as of Feb. 10, 2026).
Tax and exemption approvals: Acting on the Assessor's recommendations, the board approved a Regular Veteran's Credit of $750 for Map 4 / Lot 1-2 and a Solar Exemption of $9,600 for Map 5 / Lot 30-1 (motions passed unanimously).
Infrastructure and other updates: Webb said the HVAC contractor submitted a rebate application to NH Saves and the town expects roughly a $600 rebate in six to eight weeks. Road Agent Russ Hilliard updated the board that the salt shed is full and that the town will inspect a large snow pile at Sanborn and Route 88 for visibility and safety concerns. Webb also reported ongoing work on easement dimensions and a concept plan for the 70 Drinkwater Road culvert; she said engineering and FEMA/state review have been part of a multi-year process with an anticipated completion in 2026. Fire Chief Bobby Hudson reported a structure fire at 43 Exeter Road with extensive property damage but no injuries; heat and electricity were restored to the residence.
What happens next: The town will process the approved warrants and exemptions, await the NH Saves rebate decision, and continue engineering and easement work for the 70 Drinkwater Road culvert. The Selectmen scheduled their next regular meeting for March 4, 2026.
