Kristen, the town's recreation representative, described logistics: the agreement requires the Belgrade driver to be an unpaid volunteer for MMA insurance purposes, Belgrade would pay half the six-month insurance premium (about $86), and the MOU includes a removable camera system option the vendor could install for roughly $683. "This is a short-term trial to see how it works," Kristen said; she noted the arrangement would extend recreation services and allow trips without hiring a full bus.
The board moved to approve the MOU and authorized the town manager to sign on the town's behalf; the motion was seconded and approved. The Select Board also approved allowing the named recreation staff member to serve as an unpaid volunteer driver for the program. The recreation director told the board she would complete required safe-driving training and a checklist process for pickup/drop-off condition verification before operating the vehicle.
