The Traffic Commission continued to defer final action on the Seventh Street Parking Lot 7S project at its May 7 meeting while staff and consultants complete design details and arrange meetings with affected businesses.
Minutes show the item has been before the commission repeatedly since May 2024 for incremental design work, including paving, additional parking spaces and a dumpster enclosure. In recent months staff presented a proposed striping layout to business and property owners and reported that the MTA is allowing an existing fence to be replaced in its current location. Trustee Vincent Muldoon asked to meet onsite to review inlets, outlets and circulation to improve traffic flow in the lot. The commission again deferred final approval pending the last round of business-owner input and completion of final plans.
The minutes do not record final cost estimates or a construction timeline for the lot; staff listed follow-up meetings and final design review as next steps.
