The Town of Nunn Board of Trustees approved routine financial items, renewed a local business license, and discussed development and grant updates at its regular meeting on March 19, 2026.
Trustee Smith moved and Trustee Buxton seconded to approve payment of unpaid bills totaling $72,713 and payroll of $44,470.37; the motion passed on a roll-call vote with Trustee Smith, Trustee Asher, Trustee Buxton and Pro tem Kaus recorded as voting yes. The board then voted to accept the Statement of Financial Position (same roll-call yes votes). Trustees also approved the meeting agenda and minutes from the Feb. 19, 2026 meeting by unanimous voice vote.
During the Liquor Licensing Authority session immediately before the regular meeting, trustees approved the local license renewal for Soaring V Fuels LLC (license #04-01131). Trustee Smith moved to approve the renewal; Trustees Asher and Buxton seconded and the authority recorded the motion as "all in favor."
On planning and development matters, trustees discussed a proposal from Clayton Homes to develop 18 homes in town. The board was told a Water Service Agreement with North Weld must be completed before the development can proceed; trustees indicated they will need additional discussion about plant investments, tap fees and the fiscal and infrastructure implications of larger future developments.
Trustee Asher provided a comprehensive grants update: a CDBG Community Center project detected asbestos in Town Hall (gym, board room, administration office and a share house), and the board is awaiting abatement bids; a CDBG senior center application has been submitted; a BRIC Master Drainage community update is scheduled for April 22, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.; a Safer Streets youth outreach event is scheduled for March 20, 2026; a water tower funding request was submitted for congressional consideration; the bulk fill station project is moving forward; the Master Water Plan is awaiting an agreement; and a potential grant to assist with identifying water loss is due in early June.
Public comment included Kerri Dutton, the Town’s HRA representative, who said HRA could field 12 youth teams and may request use of Veteran’s Park for soccer practice from April through June for ages 3–15; she said an agreement (letter of understanding) would be required between the town and HRA. Dutton also said T-ball registration closes at the end of May and that the HRA office will move to a smaller space.
The meeting adjourned at 7:02 p.m. Trustees scheduled follow-up on development and grant items for future meetings.
