Town Board approves zone change to allow West Herr parking expansion on State Route 31

At its June 1 meeting, the Town Board approved Town Board Case #1250 (Lands of Nelson Amended) to change zoning from NC‑1 (Neighborhood Commercial) to HC‑1 (Highway Commercial) for property at 3687 State Route 31. The change will allow expansion of an existing parking lot to serve additional vehicle inventory for West Herr on a parcel of approximately 0.73 acres.
The Board adopted a SEQRA determination finding the project an unlisted action with a completed Environmental Assessment Form and that it "will not have a significant effect on the environment"; the Planning Board had provided a favorable referral following its May 27 public hearing. Councilor Eugene Young moved the resolution and Councilor David Capria seconded; vote was unanimous among present members (Ayes 6, Noes 0).
