During member comments and staff reports, parks staff announced a public meeting about outdoor sports fields at 6 p.m. on July 20 at the Interpretive Center to gather input on potential field land loss and coordination with schools. Staff said they will confirm league notification and circulation of additional details.
Staff also said they will send a SurveyMonkey to commissioners to schedule a Parks & Rec Advisory Commission workshop to discuss capital projects and to gather availability for that session.
Members used the member-comment period to highlight possible city acquisitions of scenic-view parcels, to revisit a volunteer program being coordinated with HR, and to praise a community-led, interim solution for pickleball facilities. The commission set its next regular meeting for Aug. 10, 2026, at 10 a.m.
