The motion to approve claims was made by Alderperson Dave Streif and seconded by Alderperson Adam and carried 6-0.
Consent items included approval of two operator licenses (Ashley Vale and Samara Schmitt-Levins) and minutes from April 15 and April 21. The council also approved creation of an Ad Hoc Committee with members Pete Adam, John Wells, Jon Miles, Dave Streif, and Aaron Peterson (motion by Alderperson Adam, second by Alderperson Dave Streif; carried 6-0).
Personnel actions included approving hiring Interviewer #2 for the Street Maintenance Worker role (motion by Alderperson Adam, second by Alderperson Strack; carried 6-0). During public comment, Breland Scharschmidt urged the council to consider allowing a limited number of chickens within city limits; Mayor Boebel said he would prepare an ordinance option for council review.
The council scheduled an emergency meeting for May 29 at 5 p.m. to approve library bids and adjourned at 6:44 p.m.
