At its Nov. 19 meeting the Exeter Region Cooperative School District board handled routine governance items and several votes.
The board approved the Oct. 15 public and nonpublic meeting minutes after a motion and second; a single abstention was recorded for the public minutes. The chair then presented the winter coaching nomination lists for Exeter High School and the middle school; a motion to approve the lists was moved, seconded and approved by voice/hand. Board members discussed a position that had flipped between paid and volunteer but left the list as presented.
Administrators presented a packet of policy updates driven in part by recent legislative Title IX changes and other statutory updates. The board moved to adopt the updated policies and signaled assent. The board also moved to withdraw policy KED and replace it with ACA; members approved the withdrawal.
Finally, the board voted to go into nonpublic session under RSA 91-A:3 II(a) to discuss personnel. A roll-call vote moved the board into nonpublic; after the closed session the board accepted the superintendent’s personnel recommendation.
Why it matters: These votes reflect routine governance, staffing decisions and compliance with state policy requirements; the nonpublic session addressed confidential personnel matters and resulted in acceptance of a superintendent recommendation.
Records and next steps: The board will post or record updated policies and proceed with personnel implementation as directed in the nonpublic session.
