The Levittown Board of Education voted unanimously to approve budget transfers, the financial audit corrective action plan, the technology audit corrective action plan, and a broad consent agenda of routine items at its July 8 meeting.
During the consent discussion a board member raised questions about two contract awards on the agenda—one for auto and truck parts and another for vehicle body repairs—asking whether the motions should include specific "not to exceed" amounts. District staff responded that the system sets limits at the purchase-order stage; vendors are placed on bid-award lists and individual purchase orders establish the up-to amounts. If spending would exceed available appropriations, the district can increase the purchase order if funds remain or effect a budget transfer.
The district also approved gifts submitted on the agenda, including a Bookworm vending machine paid for by the Summit Lane PTA at a listed cost of $6,840 and smaller donations to school music programs and a food pantry. The board noted upcoming meeting dates and adjourned the meeting at 8:05 p.m.
