The King and Queen County Economic Development Authority announced March 5 that it had selected two local small-business owners for $1,500 marketing scholarships to support business promotion.
A workgroup used individual scoring sheets to select the recipients: Mariia Smolina, owner of Art & Stitchery, and Stacey Richardson, owner of Planter’s Grove. Each recipient will receive $1,500 to work with a marketing firm that partnered with the EDA: Art & Stitchery will work with Petite Taway, and Planter’s Grove will work with Consociate Media. Chairman George Longest congratulated both winners.
Because the winners could not attend in person, certificates are scheduled to be presented March 6 at HUB33, and both winners will participate virtually. The awards are intended to assist marketing and business development efforts for local enterprises.
