The Fredonia Planning Commission on April 13 approved a site plan for an NOSD maintenance building that will replace two existing maintenance structures and add a heated shop, public restroom and storage for sports equipment.
Ken, the project agent with Hague Mueller Incorporated, told the commission the plan calls for demolishing the existing concession-stand–area buildings and constructing a new maintenance building with a heated shop and storage for track and sports equipment. "We're looking to demo the existing ones...then we're up this new maintenance building," Ken said, noting state review was expected imminently.
Commissioners asked about the project's location and how it aligns with existing site elements. Ken said the new building would sit just north of the current concession stand and align with the first southwest center. He also said construction permitting and upgrades are underway and that he expected the project to go to state review "today or tomorrow." Chair Lehi called for a vote; after a motion and second, the plan was approved by voice vote.
The commission did not record a roll-call tally in the transcript. The approval clears the local land-use review; the agent said further approvals (state review and construction permits) remain pending.
The commission moved on to other business after the vote.
