Merton Plan Commission approves storage uses in condo units, recommends park lease, and OKs July prairie walk

Applicant Paul Trapp sought permission to use Unit 1400 for cold storage of trailers and vans and to build out a bathroom and office. Trapp told the commission there is "no mezzanine" and that while he has four employees, they will not be working inside the unit but will come to pick up supplies; trailers and equipment will be stored outside and "fit in the car parking spaces." Planner Marilyn Haroldson questioned the employee usage and signage; Trapp said he will use a unit number and can place the address by the mail slot. The commission approved Trapp’s plan of operation contingent upon any required inspections (motion by Commissioner Queoff; second Siepmann).
The commission also approved a plan of operation for Unit 1300, submitted by Dave Dlobik, described as personal storage with the possibility of future leasing or renting; Dlobik said there will be signage and physical unit numbers (motion by Commissioner Good; second Olson). Both approvals were recorded as "motion carried" with no roll‑call tallies provided in the record.
The commission voted to recommend renewal of the lease between the Stone Bank Community Park and Recreation Club and the Town of Merton to the Town Board; Chairman Klink said the lease wording is unchanged aside from names and dates (motion by Commissioner Griffin; second Siepmann).
Tall Pines Conservancy requested approval for a Twilight Prairie Walk at Oconomowoc River Conservancy Park on July 16 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Beth Hoefer‑Jazo, director of outreach and development for Tall Pines, made the request; Planner Haroldson noted the event and the commission approved it (motion by Griffin; second Siepmann).
Planner Marilyn Haroldson reported the town had received approval of the DNR modeling study. Paul Griffin reported nothing to report for DPW. Commissioners Siepmann and Olson moved to adjourn; the meeting concluded at 5:52 p.m.
The approvals in this meeting were routine and contingent where noted; the commission did not take up any contested zoning or development items.
