The Town of Merton Plan Commission on April 15 approved a certified survey map that combines two parcels on Chenequa Circle to create a single lot for a proposed single-family residence, after the town planner outlined a list of required technical corrections.
Planner Marilyn Haroldson told the commission the request, filed by Miller Marriott Construction on behalf of property owners Gregory and Jannelle Peterson (Tax Keys MRTT0372-010 & MRTT0372-009), would combine two existing parcels and that the dwelling on Lot 6 has already been removed. Haroldson enumerated specific items that must be corrected or added to the map before final acceptance, including a signed, dated and sealed surveyor's certificate with revision dates; topographic contours (2-foot intervals preferred, 5-foot minimum); identification of soil types; wells on site and within 100 feet of septic or stormwater facilities per DNR well code; designation of the driveway to be used; depiction of structures on-site and within 50 feet on adjoining properties; removal of the existing dwelling if a new house will be built; soil borings and testing data; and a change on page 4 of the town board approval form that will replace "Holly Claas" with "Donna Hann, Clerk."
Commissioner Caliendo moved to approve the certified survey map contingent on the planner's listed corrections; Commissioner Siepmann seconded and the motion carried. The minutes record no roll-call vote tally; the motion was recorded as "motion carried."
The action follows routine plan commission review of lot consolidation for single-family construction and does not itself authorize building permits. The commission also recorded that a rezoning request from Kim Schlise (dba Garden Gate Nursery) to rezone a landscaping and nursery business at N48W30756 Hill Street to a B-2 local business district was postponed by the petitioner at the public hearing.
In other business, Haroldson said a letter was sent to a resident in Franchar Estates after complaints from the subdivision about tractors, trailers and junk on the property; she said the matter will be turned over to the town attorney if the resident does not respond. Paul Griffin delivered the Department of Public Works report and stated there was nothing to report. The commission adjourned at 5:37 p.m.
Action items recorded in the minutes include approval of the March 18 meeting minutes (motion by Commissioners Siepmann and Queoff), the certified survey map approval (motion by Commissioners Caliendo and Siepmann), and a motion to adjourn (Olson/Queoff).
