Olive Crossing tenants fit out, hotel faces Jan. 31 grading deadline; city highlights upcoming events

During the city manager's report on Jan. 13, Olivette staff updated the council on progress at Olive Crossing and on local community events.
The city manager said Lot 3 tenants Paris Baguette and Brass Tap are fitting out tenant spaces, Tropical Smoothie and Verizon have been issued permits, and one tenant space in Lot 3 remains vacant. "They have about 1,200 or, truckloads of dirt that need to be taken off that site," the city manager said about the hotel parcel (Lot 6), which cleared PCDC review and must begin grading under the development agreement by Jan. 31.
Staff described lease negotiations underway for one lot and said inspectors are posting up-to-date construction photos. The manager encouraged residents to attend a "coffee with the mayor" event at 5 Oaks with the future business owners and noted a pet adoption event and the resumption of the Citizens Police Academy in February (sign-ups handled by the City of Creve Coeur).
Staff also reported community results: the city exceeded its 2025 blood-drive goal, collecting 78 units against a 60-unit goal (enough to potentially help 234 patients). Council members asked clarifying questions about construction timing and revenue assumptions tied to new development; staff said some near-term revenue increases will be reflected in future forecasting as openings occur.
Council did not take formal action on development items at this meeting; staff said it will continue to monitor the site and update the council as construction milestones are reached.
