Commissioner (S2) reminded the public that Sunfest at Cobre High School will be held July 25 and that the event distributes backpacks and school supplies for families. Commissioner (S8) reported attending a quarterly CLLA meeting via Zoom and said the authority provides compensation related to wolf predation claims; she asked staff to publicize that assistance and to let residents know how to apply. Chair (S1) said he had met with Dr. Jose Cole, president of Western New Mexico University, and that Dr. Cole had expressed interest in bringing Fiesta Latina back to the campus and had directed staff to begin planning; Chair (S1) said he brought a county representative to the meeting and was optimistic about collaboration between the university and the county.
Commissioners asked that materials about CLLA assistance and the county’s budget snapshot be made available online so constituents can find information easily.
