Chair Lenz opened discussion on the application, and the applicant said the congregation wants to change the sign’s orientation so it is perpendicular to the road and more visible. Committee member (speaking for the applicant) said the sign will be in the same location as the existing sign but rotated to face east–west and use an LED display. "So we'd like to make it perpendicular to the road," the committee member said.
Commission administration told members the proposal falls within village ordinances and recommended forwarding the permit to the village board with a positive recommendation. After brief discussion of dimensions and mounting, a member moved to recommend approval; the motion was seconded and the commission voted in favor.
The recommendation goes to the village board for final action; the commission did not record a vote tally in the transcript. The building inspector will review the plan and issue any required permits if the board approves the application.
