The chief presented commendations for Detective Chase Pendleton, Sergeant Baker, Officer Owen Hunter and others, describing incidents on 06/21/2026, 06/25/2026 and 06/30/2026 that included joint responses with the Ohio State Highway Patrol and neighboring agencies, drone support to locate a fleeing suspect, taking a combative subject into custody after a Taser deployment, and locating and arresting a suspect tied to an armed home invasion.
"For a newly sworn officer to display this level of courage, professionalism, and commitment on her very first night of patrol is extremely commendable," the chief said, praising Ratliffs conduct and the departments teamwork. The chief also highlighted officers who responded while off duty and those who assisted in complex investigations and interagency arrests.
Council members thanked officers and invited family photos following the formal recognition. The presentations emphasized the departments use of coordinated responses, drone support and interagency cooperation in resolving recent violent incidents.
