Hebron administrator reports pothole repairs, water-rate notices and manhole inspections; Wind Waste to appear in July

Hebron — Interim village administrator Director Meissner updated council on operations and resident notices at the June 22 meeting.

Meissner said crews have repaired potholes at Refugee and Ninth streets but cautioned that some recurring potholes remain and staff are pursuing a longer-term fix. On a separate infrastructure item, Meissner said the village met with engineer GPD Group and superintendent Ward to review alternatives to installing a guardrail at the end of Hamilton Street, and that the village is preparing purchase orders for signage or other mitigations.

The administrator said a water and wastewater rate letter will be mailed to residents and businesses with the next billing cycle outlining the new rates and effective dates and invited council to direct residents with questions to contact the administration. Meissner said V3 is the contractor performing manhole inspections and that public notices have been distributed to reduce resident concern.

Meissner also announced the water and reclamation assistant superintendent position has been posted and welcomed a new member of the water department, Dylan Ashtrander. She said Wind Waste has been invited and will attend the July committee meeting to respond to service concerns raised by residents.

Finally, Meissner reminded council of a June 29 public hearing on zoning amendments and mentioned a Morpsey workshop on comprehensive planning best practices the same evening in Columbus; she offered to register interested council members.
