Eric Larson attended his last meeting of the Shelbyville Airport Board after 10 years of service, and board members publicly thanked him for his contributions.
An agency official noted Larson was "one of the persons that interviewed me for my job and hired me" and that he has served as chairman and vice chairman during his tenure. Members presented a small gift from the airport as tokens of appreciation and said the mayor and city council will make an appointment to fill the seat at the next meeting.
Larson thanked the board and said he is "really enjoying my time on the board" and looks forward to seeing future changes at the airport. The board closed the meeting with additional thanks and adjourned.
