Residents pitch moonlight rides, pickleball tournaments and cardboard-boat races for White Lake

Susan Guy led the list: "Pickleball, tennis, shuffleboard, frisbee golf, basketball, swim lessons, swim team, sunfish race, boat float tie up for fellowship…" She and other participants suggested moonlight bike rides, yoga on the pier, shag lessons, cardboard-boat races at the marina, sand-castle events for children and bike rental options tied to local businesses.
Kathy Kinlaw noted some events could be tied to local businesses to support vendors and attract visitors. Members suggested coordinating with county tourism and applying for marketing grants that prioritize events that "put heads in beds." The group also discussed the possibility of a presence at a county trail weekend in February to raise White Lake's profile.
The advisory group did not vote on any event funding; members recommended forming a small planning team to work with business owners and finalize event proposals for future meetings.
