Candy Boyette said the name change needs to begin because the town board must approve bylaw revisions. "So the name change needs to begin," she said, and members agreed the edited bylaws must go before the town board in August.
The group debated whether the advisory board should specify modes of recreation such as bicycling and pedestrian facilities, or keep the language broad. Erin Siling said the board might better represent "the interests of residents" generally rather than list specific activities, and several members recommended phrasing that would allow indoor and outdoor activities.
Operationally, members agreed to collect edits in a shared Google Doc and suggested deadlines so the clerk can prepare the agenda; the group set an internal target to have edits completed by Tuesday the 29th so a final draft can be produced before the next meeting.
The revised bylaws and any proposed name change will be forwarded to the town board for formal consideration; no formal vote was recorded at the advisory meeting.
