At its meeting, the Greenwood Board approved Resolution 2025-103 to declare Kenwood police radios surplus and authorized disposal and trade. Chief Farmer said KC Wireless agreed to install and key new radios and offered roughly $4,600 in value for the Kenwood units; the board approved the resolution by voice vote.
During department reports, public works staff reviewed a recent snow event (about 3–3.5 inches) and the use of roughly 13 tons of salt during extended shifts. Staff described a used truck under consideration (27,000 miles) and asked permission to pursue bids; board members agreed to proceed with the budgeted authorization of up to $40,000 to secure a vehicle suited to snow and maintenance work.
Administration reported the April 7, 2026 election filing period opened (Dec. 9–30) and that Geyer Fence began work at Hitt Park. Steven proposed an informational session for prospective candidates on Dec. 18 from 5–7 p.m. Chief Farmer also noted that new radios arrived early, holiday DWI enforcement is underway, and a giving-tree program is pairing families with donors.
In public comment, resident Deanna Elkins urged the city to coordinate with nearby animal-shelter resources for lost dogs this winter and asked for increased patrols near a local shopping area after a reported near-miss; she also praised the board and police for recent work. The board later moved and voted to enter a closed session under Section 610.021(1), (3) and (13), RSMo; a roll-call vote was recorded in favor and the meeting closed into executive session.
