Board approves Conservation Commission summer intern at $19 per hour

The Board of Selectmen voted June 15 to approve Avery Merrill as the Conservation Commission’s summer intern at a rate of $19 per hour, with funding to come from the Conservation Commission budget.
Kathleen Babin-Johnson, chair of the Conservation Commission, introduced Merrill and said he studies environmental science at Montana State University and has experience with the Office of Sustainability at Montana State, ecoMaine and Crane Outdoors in Massachusetts. Babin-Johnson described him as passionate about sustainability.
Heather Droesch moved to approve the appointment and Paul Stanley seconded; the motion carried with all members voting in favor.
