He also noted the town has 389 fire hydrants to consider for winter access planning.
After discussion about budgetary impact and the advantages of purchasing versus continued leasing, a council motion to approve the RFP with a not‑to‑exceed amount passed by voice vote. Council directed staff to proceed with RFP drafting, to return with bid results, and to ensure any purchase complies with the town’s procurement rules.
