Verona council narrows authority to change pool event hours to township manager after debate

"I'll make a motion then to amend this resolution, to just say that the hour subject to change for township events are approved by the township manager," McGrath said. After discussion about administrative collaboration and fiscal impact, the amendment carried 3–1, with the deputy mayor voting no.
Pamela Prisco, director of community services, described a string of successful pool events and defended the marketing committee’s outreach; she said events were planned with the manager’s permission and that most feedback has been positive. "I'm trying to make things better for our pool and our members," Prisco said.
Council members said they wanted agility for administrators to respond to opportunities but emphasized the manager’s responsibility for financial oversight. The revised language keeps operational collaboration among staff but clarifies that final authority rests with the township manager. Council agreed to review pool operations further later in the year.
