Hamilton board approves small increases to school lunch prices and activity fees

The Hamilton School Board approved updated meal prices and participation fees for 2025-26 and extended the district's contract with the local supplier, Kemp's Dairy.
Buildings and Grounds presented the recommended lunch prices: elementary $2.95; intermediate $3.30; bistro box $2.95; middle and high school hot lunch $3.30; breakfast $2.00; adult breakfast $4.15; and milk at 50 cents per carton. Administration noted the district had not raised meal prices for several years and presented the increases as modest adjustments.
The board also approved changes to user and participation fees after administration noted those fees had not been increased in seven years. The athletic participation fee increased from $75 to $115 per participant, with a family cap of $460. The board approved extending the existing contract with Kemp's Dairy for the 2025-26 school year at the presented per-carton milk prices; Buildings and Grounds noted Kemp's Dairy is locally produced and the district has been pleased with the service.
Board members had no further questions and the motions carried by voice vote.
