The Lakeville police department told the council on July 6 that it handled 271 calls in June 2026 and reviewed those incidents and the department’s recent activity.
The police representative listed calls that month—including assists to neighboring departments, crashes, a reported overdose, a disturbance at Potato Creek State Park, and other public-safety responses—and said the department made six arrests (including driving with suspended privileges and one DUI). The speaker noted the Fourth of July parade was largely successful despite rain.
The department requested a street closure on Saturday, Aug. 15, to block Harrison Street from Michigan Street to South Main from about 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. for a fundraiser involving Blakeville Brew Crew and other partners; the council acknowledged the request and logistics for the event.
The fire chief reported 37 runs in the prior month (21 medical calls, two fires and other responses), mentioned community outreach such as a hot-dog-day event, and encouraged attendance at an upcoming cars-and-coffee event at the firehouse (9 a.m.–noon).
Provenance: Police report introduced at SEG 790 and fire department report at SEG 1055; street-closure request discussed through SEG 876.
