The Brooke County Commission on June 30, 2026 approved several routine administrative items during a regularly adjourned session at the Brooke County Courthouse.
Commissioner Christina J. White moved to approve the minutes from the June 23 meeting; Commissioner Stacey Wise seconded the motion and it passed unanimously. The panel then approved open invoices presented for payment in a separate unanimous vote.
The commission agreed to forward a letter from Dawson Kemp requesting appointment to the 911 Advisory Board to Captain Ferguson for follow-up.
In a single procurement vote, Commissioners approved purchase of two X‑ray inspection machines from AutoClear Security Inspection Systems for a total of $37,900 ($18,950 each). The minutes state the purchase includes a one‑year warranty; the motion was made by Commissioner Christina J. White, seconded by Commissioner Stacey Wise, and passed unanimously.
The commission also approved two reappointments: Mr. Duane Heck was reappointed to the RT2/I‑68 Board and Marelene Sebeck was reappointed to the Brooke County Libraries board. Both reappointments were moved by Commissioner Christina J. White, seconded by Commissioner Stacey Wise, and each passed unanimously.
Invoices and vouchers were approved and checks were ordered written: Fire Safety Levy checks (CKS 2770–2779) totaling $16,519.58 and Valuation checks (CKS 2393–2394) totaling $1,034.00 were specifically listed in the minutes.
The commission announced the Courthouse will be closed Friday, July 3, 2026, in observance of Independence Day. A motion to adjourn was made by Commissioner Stacey Wise (the minutes record the name as "Stacey Hukill Wise" at the adjournment line) and the meeting was adjourned after the unanimous vote.
