Tioga commission OKs $69,632 sound system and $19,438 cameras for new community center; HVAC maintenance contract tabled

At the Oct. 21 meeting, the Tioga City Commission approved vendor quotes to equip the expanding community center, authorizing a speakers/sound-system purchase and additional security cameras while deferring an HVAC maintenance contract.
Haley Felber presented an RPM SounDesign quote for a speakers and sound system totaling $69,632.00. Commission President Brett Rieniets told the commission he had attempted to obtain other bids but was able to secure only the RPM SounDesign proposal; the commission approved the RPM SounDesign bid on a motion by Commissioner Jaden Iverson, seconded by Commissioner Steven Dye (roll call as recorded: Ayes: Iverson, Dye).
Felber also presented an NCC quote for additional cameras to support security and liability for the community center expansion. The commission approved the NCC quote for $19,438.54 (motion Iverson; second Dye; roll call recorded as Ayes: Iverson, Dye). The minutes state there will be no additional monthly costs to the city for the camera package.
A proposed annual HVAC maintenance contract from Johnson Controls was discussed and the commission tabled action; no motion to approve was recorded in the minutes.
The community-center construction and these equipment purchases are part of the ongoing expansion project; the commission also approved application for payment #3 for the general contractor at this meeting. The next commission meeting is scheduled for Nov. 4, 2024.
