Bismarck board elects Josh Hager president, confirms vice president and approves appointments

The Bismarck School Board reorganized its leadership July 14, electing Josh Hager as president for the 2025–26 term and confirming Danelle Presky as vice president.
During the reorganization portion of the meeting, Mr. Lee nominated Josh Hager for president; the nomination was seconded and Hager accepted. The board recorded a unanimous voice roll call and installed Hager in the chair. President Hager then nominated Danelle Presky for vice president; Presky accepted and the board voted to confirm her.
The board also considered its monitoring reports. Dr. Fosnett then presented OE2 (emergency superintendent succession), describing staff roles and an annual designation process for an interim successor; the board voted to accept OE2 as compliant.
On appointments, the superintendent presented recommendations for roughly 27 authorized representatives and designees (the packet lists positions and recommended incumbents). Ms. Peterson moved to appoint authorized representatives and designees as listed in recommendations 1–27; the motion was seconded and approved by voice roll call. The superintendent noted and corrected one entry related to a Korea board appointment before the vote and suggested some non-board positions could be handled in workshop.
The board also approved its consent agenda, during which members acknowledged several resignations and extended appreciation to departing staff. The consent agenda motion passed by roll call vote.
The meeting concluded after a brief superintendent update on the Silver Ranch Career Academy construction progress; staff said phase 1 is on track and site work is largely complete.
