Board recognizes Bismarck Education Association as negotiating unit for certified staff starting July 1, 2025

The Bismarck School Board voted on March 10 to recognize the Bismarck Education Association as the representative negotiating unit for certified licensed staff (classroom teachers, librarians and counselors who are non-administrative) for a minimum of one year beginning July 1, 2025.
Board member Peterson moved that the board recognize the Bismarck Education Association as the representative organization for a minimum of one year beginning July 1, 2025. The motion was seconded and the board approved the recognition by roll call.
President Eastgate noted the petition had been posted in district schools and that the board would consider the petition and determine its validity at the meeting. Mr. Sher conducted the roll call, and members recorded their votes in favor of recognition.
The recognition means the association will be the negotiating representative for the stated unit for the upcoming year; the board did not take additional contractual actions during the March 10 session.
