The Bismarck School Board voted March 10 to accept Superintendent Dr. Fosnott's spring 2025 summative evaluation as "satisfactory." President Dan Eastgate read board comments that praised Fosnott's leadership on community forums, transportation and curriculum reporting.
Board member Mr. Lee moved to accept the evaluation "as satisfactory." The motion received a second and proceeded to roll-call approval; members recorded their assent and the motion passed. Mr. Sher conducted the roll call.
President Eastgate relayed several board comments included in the evaluation packet, citing proactive communications, use of the Operational Excellence Committee, and community advocacy during the legislative session. Dr. Fosnott thanked the board for the affirmation and acknowledged ongoing areas for improvement, including communication and responsiveness to community concerns.
The vote was recorded during the meeting; the board did not amend the evaluation language during the session. No additional formal action related to the evaluation was taken at the meeting.
Next steps: The board will continue scheduled governance work and monitoring of superintendent performance through regular reports and planned workshops.
