Commissioners approve multiple contracts and procurement items, including Accurate Controls service agreement and Bridge 509 work

At its July 6 meeting, the Delaware County Board of Commissioners approved a set of procurement and infrastructure actions covering security, right-of-way acquisitions and bridge work.
Maintenance staff requested and received approval for a $3,120 monitoring and reprogramming job by Corson Fire Security at the Justice Center. The board also approved a proposal to enter a two-year service agreement with Accurate Controls to provide software management and service for the Justice Center’s access-control system; commissioners approved both the multi-year service plan and an additional two-year software-management line (an additional $12,400.28 was approved during discussion). Officials said that near-term payment for those costs will be covered from EDIT capital project 12 and that longer-term funding sources will be identified later.
The board accepted two warranty deeds (after correcting a written amount) to take parcels of right-of-way for Bridge Number 30, approving the payments as presented. Commissioners also approved a contract with USI Consultants to begin design and initial right-of-way work for Bridge Number 509; the contract was presented as a $760,000 package with a previously budgeted 80/20 federal/local split and an additional $80,100 the county would assume at present; staff said they would seek further funds to restore an 80/20 split.
Separately, Jan Smoot, the county recorder, presented a media-conversion (digitization) contract for scanning records; after consulting State Board of Accounts guidance and arranging staged payments, the commission approved the contract to proceed using perpetuation funds as a courtesy review.
The commissioners approved each item by roll call where required and directed staff to finalize contract language, correct deed language for the record, and coordinate funding sources for the bridge work and security-service payments.
Next steps: staff will finalize contract documents, update warranty-deed language before signatures, and continue pursuing grant opportunities for the Bridge 509 design and match funding.
