City Administrator Jacob said the project stems from smoke testing performed last year and identified additional locations needing rehabilitation. He outlined a schedule: bid opening on July 30, a public hearing on Aug. 3, and construction expected to begin mid-to-late August with all work targeted for completion by Dec. 4, 2026.
Council moved and seconded a resolution to approve the notice to bidders and the plan subject to the public hearing; the motion passed by roll call. Jacob said the project is part of the regular capital maintenance cycle and will proceed after award of the construction contract following the hearing.
Next steps: staff will publish bid documents and hold the public hearing on Aug. 3 as noted by Jacob. The council did not discuss funding sources in detail during the presentation.
