Beaverdam board approves $1.887 million in bills as treasurer reports $2.45 million cash

The Beaverdam town board approved payment of $1,887,221.82 in bills during its Jan. 14 meeting, voting unanimously to carry the motion moved by Supervisor Liz Kern and seconded by Jesse Hankes.
Treasurer Nicole Banes gave the board a financial update, reporting balances of $76,816 in the General Fund, $2,347,778 in Money Market, and $27,351 in Money Market Reserve. She said the town has an outstanding loan of $1,560,513 and that cash on hand excluding that loan totaled $2,451,946; she added that more than half of the recent receipts had already been paid out to the County and the local school districts for their tax portions.
The board’s vote on bills was recorded as “carried unanimously.” The motion to approve the previous month’s minutes was also approved earlier in the meeting on a motion by Kern and a second from Hankes.
The board did not take additional budget actions or make changes to reported fund balances during the session. The meeting adjourned at 8:13 p.m.
