Forest Heights council hears sewer replacement and Maryland 210 repair plans

Town leaders told residents at the March 18 council meeting about two infrastructure projects that will affect parts of Forest Heights.
Mayor Lilly said Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) crews have begun sewer‑line replacement and rehabilitation work on the town’s west side and that the project covers roughly 2.8 miles of mains. The mayor said crews will generally work between 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. and that the project is expected to continue into May 2027. Officials acknowledged residents may see crews and experience noise and periodic service impacts during the work.
The mayor also reported that the Maryland State Highway Administration has added a repair project for Maryland 210 between Seneca Drive and the Beltway to its spring schedule. The town anticipates some lane closures during the work; officials said SHA will attempt off‑peak and overnight work and that timings for Forest Heights segments could be shorter than the countywide project window.
Council members encouraged residents to attend upcoming planning events and noted the town’s strategic planning commission and market series are moving forward. Council did not take votes related to either infrastructure item at the March 18 meeting; officials said they will continue to coordinate with WSSC and SHA and provide updates as project schedules firm up.
