Forest Heights swears in three council members after March 11 municipal election

The Town of Forest Heights read final municipal election results and swore in newly elected officials during the March 18 council meeting.
Elections board member Lindell Murphy reported results for the March 11, 2026 local election: Ward 1 recorded 32 ballots with Shanice Little receiving 29 votes and three write‑ins; Ward 2 recorded 36 ballots with Jonathan Kennedy receiving 23 votes and Cynthia Mann 12 (one write‑in); Ward 3 recorded 33 ballots with Paula Noble receiving all 33 ballots. Murphy said 101 people voted in the local election.
Mayor Lilly administered the oath of office to the reelected council members. Shanice Nicole Liddle (Ward 1), Jonathan Kennedy the 2nd (Ward 2), and Paula Noble (Ward 3) were sworn in and congratulated by the mayor and council. Rosalind Smith was sworn in as the third member of the Beautification and Appearance Committee.
Council subsequently moved through routine business, including approval of the March 2 meeting minutes (with an instruction that the clerk add the roll‑call vote to that minutes record) and adoption of a Maryland Day proclamation for March 25.
The council paused for a brief recess after the swearing‑in. No contested results or procedural challenges were raised during the March 18 meeting.
