Marcy Torres, who identified herself as from Franklin County, told commissioners she would attend hearings and file grievances after observing what she described as instances where judges and attorneys "are lying under oath and committing fraud" in courtroom proceedings. Torres said she would document cases and pursue formal complaints.
A series of public commenters described an alleged pattern of harms to children and difficulties with forensic interviews and emergency ex parte parenting orders. Marie Redout (Tri City resident) said repeated forensic interviews and a short emergency ex parte order led to a significant reduction in a mother's parenting time, and she warned of long‑term harm to children.
Mitch Snow and other attendees escalated criticism of the courts. Snow said, "We have criminals that are on the bench... They've been convicted of shoplifting, Medicare and Medicaid fraud... Yet they're sitting on the bench covering up their stories," and urged more court watching and legal accountability. Those are allegations voiced by members of the public during comment; the board did not adjudicate or investigate the claims at the meeting.
Sherry Elizabeth (Red Mountain) asked the board to file criminal charges against a former county risk manager, alleging criminal impersonation; a county speaker then clarified there are two different attorneys named Jennifer Johnson and said the county's Jennifer Johnson did not pretend to be a judge.
Speakers also appealed to the board on behalf of specific children. One commenter read a letter attributed to a child named Nate Snow that detailed allegations of neglect and assault and asked, "Where is Nate Snow?" County officials did not provide on‑the‑record follow‑up during the meeting; many of the claims raised in public comment were described as grievances to be pursued by the speakers themselves.
The commissioners kept the public comment record open for those items and continued with other agenda business; no formal board action or investigation was initiated during the meeting on the family‑court allegations. Residents repeatedly asked the board to help increase transparency and to use available grievance procedures to address claims; several speakers said they would continue to attend hearings and file complaints.
