Eric also described a proposal from Urban Chestnut to pilot a mobile beer garden in Brentwood Park on select Wednesdays in July as a proof of concept for a larger partnership. He said the operator would pay the city’s $100 food‑truck fee and would donate 10% of proceeds from a branded “Brentwood Park” tap to the parks maintenance fund. “They’re willing to donate 10% of the proceeds of every beer poured in Brentwood Park to the Brentwood Park, parks maintenance and liquidity fund,” Eric said.
Eric said the company suggested one or two initial nights (with programs such as trivia or family activities) to test interest; staff would bring a special‑use permit to the board if the committee supports proceeding. Committee members supported staff moving forward with a short MOU and bringing the special‑use permit to the full board for approval.
Separately, Eric reported a Movement Center request to use up to five Hanley Park parking spaces for staff parking shortages and proposed drafting an MOU to return to committee for review.
