At its July 15 meeting the Tioga City Commission approved a series of public-works and maintenance contracts and heard an update on the community center project.
Josh Reiner of Moore Engineering briefed the commission on NE Reconstruction Phase II, progress on the Tioga Dam Recreation Trail and a required signature for a Notice to Proceed contract, and options to provide water service to 204 N Benson St. The commission approved awarding the water-connection work to Esterholm Construction not to exceed $21,000 to connect to the main and terminate a loop line.
Construction superintendent David Sting told the commission that the warming-house foundation and slabs and the retention pond are complete, grading is under way on the east parking lot, and utilities for water, sewer and natural gas are installed; payment application #1 will be presented at the next meeting.
On routine maintenance and capital items, the commission approved the chip-seal proposal from Brosz Engineering, accepted a $14,540 estimate for water meters from Ferguson Waterworks, approved Braun Truckings dust-control quote for up to five miles (totaling up to $45,000) with one commissioner abstaining, and approved a $3,350 quote from Central Dakota Sprinklers for trench line and backfill to the baseball field. The minutes record motions and roll-call results for each approval.
The minutes do not provide contract documents or detailed scope-of-work descriptions; they record the approvals and the dollar amounts where quoted.
