At its Aug. 6 meeting the Hillsborough Planning Board voted to deem the subdivision application for 295 Sleeper Road a Development of Regional Impact (DRI) under RSA 36:55 II due to proximity to the border with a neighboring community. Planning Director Robyn Payson recommended the DRI finding because the applicant intends to access the property via Bear Hill Road in Washington.
Following discussion about the appropriate order of approvals and whether additional time was needed for interjurisdictional review, the Board (motion by Andrew Morris, second by Bryant Wheeler) unanimously voted to deem the project a DRI. Payson said the application will now be forwarded to the Town of Washington and the regional planning commission for their review. Applicant Hunter Payeur noted confusion about order of approvals; Payson clarified that because the property is located in Hillsborough, processing begins here before Washington considers the application.
Next steps: the full application and associated documents will be delivered to Washington and to the regional planning commission for comment and review.
