Taylor Trap Club asks about permit and lease; council backs local project

At the start of the public-comment period, Jim Wolf spoke and then Dave Olson and Travis Sabrosky, speaking for the Taylor Trap Club, asked whether a previously issued building permit for planned construction is still valid and requested the club’s lease be extended to 30 years to satisfy a grant requirement.
Council took no immediate vote on the Trap Club’s requests during public comment. Later in the meeting, Councilwoman Melissa Gjermundson moved and Councilman Mark Sloop seconded approval of a letter of support for a project proposed by Ben Kuhn; that motion carried unanimously.
Secretary Nina Wolf also reported two residential utility accounts past due and stated that Kellen Wolf donated a Wi‑Fi temperature sensor and monitor to The Opera House.
No formal decision on the Taylor Trap Club’s permit or lease was recorded in the minutes; councilors indicated they would check whether the original building permit remains applicable and review lease and grant requirements as part of follow-up.
