The WARREN CO. R-III superintendent presented year-end financial results at the board meeting, reporting the district closed the year close to budget after an April amendment and providing several revenue and expenditure figures.
The superintendent said the district was "within about a percent of our budget of the revenue and about a per less than a half percent on the expenses" following the April budget amendment. He reported that total revenue was "we we're up about $300,000 ballpark," while expenses rose — in part because of salary increases and higher special-education service costs — by what he described as "a little less than 3,000,000." He also said the district has spent "almost $30,000,000 on the bond issue" to date and that the bond fund had approximately $11,000,000 remaining.
The superintendent noted an ambiguous reference to an "ending fund balance is 33.27" in the presentation; the transcript did not specify units for that figure, so the board's stated number is reported here as given without unit interpretation. The superintendent attributed part of the revenue pattern to state funding timing, explaining that state payments sometimes start lower and are reconciled through the fiscal year.
Board members asked no substantive follow-up questions in the public record about the figures during the meeting. The board set a date for the next regular meeting on Aug. 13, 2026, and scheduled a tax-rate hearing and a closed session to follow that meeting.
