Kenowa Hills trustees approve cafeteria furniture, STEM equipment and three-year custodial contract

Kenowa Hills Board of Education members on Monday approved several procurement items and a multi-year contract, voting unanimously to move forward with classroom and facility spending drawn largely from 2020 Series II bond funds.
Member Hart moved and Member Courtade supported approval of the consent agenda, which included the April 15, 2024 regular meeting minutes and routine expenditures; the motion passed 7-0. The consent agenda recorded $878,591.94 in General Fund expenditures for April 2024, along with smaller expenditures across other funds.
As part of the consent and subsequent motions, trustees approved purchases of middle school cafeteria furniture from Custer Office Environments for $176,675.48 and from Interphase Interiors for $18,486.18, funded from 2020 Series II bond proceeds (Report #24-029). The board also approved a $28,320.19 purchase of equipment for the district STEM Academy from Grizzly Industrial using the same bond funds (Report #24-030). Member Hart moved and Member Courtade supported those recommendations; each passed 7-0.
The board awarded custodial services to Enviro-Clean for a three-year period beginning July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2027, with options for two one-year extensions as outlined in Report #24-031. That motion, made by Member Courtade and supported by Member Hart, also passed 7-0.
