Glassport Council adopts salary ordinance, amends Shade Tree Commission and approves $1.37M in General Fund bills

At its Jan. 21 meeting, Glassport Borough Council adopted two ordinances and approved major financial disbursements.
Meghan DeVerse moved and Paul Trunzo seconded adoption of Ordinance 1233, the 2025 Salary Ordinance; the motion carried with five votes in favor and two absences. Council also adopted Ordinance 1234, amending Ordinance 920 concerning the membership and creation of the Shade Tree Commission (motion by DeVerse, second by Angelo Norelli; Yes 5, No 0, Absent 2).
The council received the Treasurer’s Report from Elaina Skiba and approved the Monthly Financial Reports (motion by Angelo Norelli, seconded by Meghan DeVerse). Council then approved payment of General Fund bills for December totaling $1,370,862.06 (motion by Paul Trunzo, seconded by Angelo Norelli) and approved payment of Sewer Revenue Fund bills for December totaling $82,555.23 (motion by Mark Stecak, seconded by Meghan DeVerse); both motions carried with the same recorded vote pattern (Yes 5, No 0, Absent 2).
The meeting record lists written reports from the Tax Collector and the Police Report was made available upon request. Council also approved routine minutes and smaller donations and community items during the session.
