Glassport Borough Council on Jan. 21 approved a set of personnel and labor actions, including a memorandum of understanding with Teamsters Local No. 205 addressing adjustments tied to 12-hour shifts, adoption of an employment resolution for the borough secretary, and a contract extension for the Chief of Police.
Council approved the Teamsters MOU—subject to final solicitor review—and authorized borough officials to sign the agreement after review. The motion to approve the MOU was made by Paul Trunzo and seconded by Meghan DeVerse; the clerks recorded five votes in favor and two absences.
Council also adopted Resolution 1 (dated 1/21/25) establishing the terms and conditions of employment for the borough Secretary; the motion passed with the same recorded vote pattern.
On a separate personnel motion, Council approved a contract extension with the Chief of Police “according to the terms and conditions as contained in the agreement” and authorized signatures. The roll-call vote for that item showed Councilmember Meghan DeVerse abstained; Angelo Norelli, Mark Stecak, Paul Trunzo and President Anthony Colecchi voted yes. The meeting record lists the outcome as Yes 4, No 0, Abstain 1, Absent 2 and the motion carried.
Meeting minutes do not include the Chief's name or the detailed contract terms; the MOU text and the Secretary’s resolution were noted as approved pending any final solicitor review where specified.
