At its Oct. 15 meeting, Glassport Borough Council approved routine financial business and acted on several property and procurement items.
Treasurer Elaina Skiba reported the borough earned $22,896.64 in interest after switching to Brentwood Bank. Council adopted the monthly financial reports (motion by Amy Nabors, second by Angelo Norelli) and approved payment of September General Fund bills totaling $548,119.30 (motion by Dave Kowalski, second by Angelo Norelli) and Sewer Revenue Fund bills totaling $91,369.56 (motion by Angelo Norelli, second by Dave Kowalski); all votes were 5–0 with two members absent.
Solicitor Falco Muscante said the borough received two sealed bids for the Public Works 2000 F250. The bids reported in the meeting were $1,152 from Original Tree Service and $500 from Paul’s Auto. Council voted to award the vehicle to Original Tree Service and then adopted Resolution No. 9 (10/15/24) authorizing the sale; both motions passed 5–0 with two absences. Separately, Council voted to advertise again the sale of 102 Seventh Street after no bids were received following an earlier ad.
Procedural items: Council approved the Sept. 24 regular meeting minutes (motion by Meghan DeVerse; second by Dave Kowalski) and approved the Sept. 26 safety‑meeting minutes (motion by Amy Nabors; second by Angelo Norelli); both motions carried unanimously among those present.
Why this matters: the approvals clear the borough’s short‑term fiscal obligations, reallocate an excess vehicle asset and restart marketing for an unsold property; the vote totals and bid amounts were recorded in the meeting minutes.
