Select Board signs eviction notices for 111 Meadowbrook Rd., approves log home, solar array, shed and addition permits

The Town of Jefferson Select Board on Sept. 15 signed eviction notices for 111 Meadowbrook Rd. after reviewing attorney guidance on tax-deed cleanup and the town’s authority to recoup cleanup expenses from sale proceeds.
Selectman Terri Larcomb moved to sign the eviction notices; Select Board Chair Kevin Meehan seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
The board also handled multiple building-permit actions during the meeting. Selectman Norman Brown moved and Selectman Terri Larcomb seconded approval of the Walker Valley Holdings LLC permit to construct a 52'8" x 28' single-family log home at 23 Chambers Rd.; the motion carried unanimously. Other permits approved unanimously included a PV roof solar-array installation at 15 Jason Ave., a 12'x20' shed for Eugene Nelson on Black Velvet Rd., and a 30'x30' addition for Waumbek Methna SMC at 116 Presidential Hwy., the latter approved with the contingency that the back property-line setback be measured.
Amanda Simino reported attorney guidance on withdrawn building-permit fees: fees are reimbursable if the permit never reached the Select Board for review, but if the property owner withdrew the permit because the Select Board was going to deny it, the fee is not reimbursable. The board also reviewed a $4,129.99 purchase from Perras for bridge material (Chambers and Larcomb bridges) and directed Mike to return the materials and move the expense to next year’s budget because the current CRF lacks funds.
Administrative motions to approve minutes (Sept. 2, 2025), payroll (Sept. 8 & 15, 2025) and accounts payable (Sept. 8 & 15, 2025) were made by Selectman Norman Brown, seconded by Selectman Terri Larcomb, and passed unanimously.
